Dental Technology

Digital Imaging - We now use digital imaging to examine our patients’ teeth and jaws. The advantages over film are less radiation to the patient, perfect “processing” every time, and the ability to show you our findings within seconds. Your radiographs are easily seen on a 19 inch monitor.

Video Imaging - We also feature video imaging to identify the existing conditions of your teeth. These high definition pictures clearly illustrate areas that may need to be treated.

Digital clinical photography allows us to take, store and retrieve accurate clinical images of your teeth and smile before and after treatment. It is an invaluable asset in communicating shades to the dental laboratory when creating new crowns or veneers.

All Porcelain Crowns - The current state of the art in dentistry allows us to fabricate crowns that are entirely metal free. There is no underlying metal substructure. Computer based technology helps us to create teeth that are more natural and lifelike. Many times they are virtually indistinguishable from the adjacent natural teeth.

Tooth-Colored Restorations - For decades the standard of care on posterior (back) teeth was a silver filling. Now we are able to use a wide variety of tooth colored composite resins and "bond" them to your teeth with a precise light activated process. These new restorations (fillings) look and feel like natural teeth. There is absolutely no metal or mercury.

Veneers are very thin wafers of porcelain that are about the same size as a fingernail. They fit over a minimally prepared front tooth and can drastically change the color and shape of the tooth.
They require less tooth preparation than a crown and can make a remarkable change in a patient's smile.

Tooth Lightening - Are you unhappy with the color of your teeth ? Are they too yellow or gray ? Tooth lightening may be a solution for you. This involves wearing a very thin , flexible, custom made tray that has the appropriate chemistry for you. The tray is worn for an hour a day for ten days to two weeks. Appropriate candidates typically see a significant clinical change after that time span.
